The Role
This is a varied Finance Assistant role where you’ll be right at the heart of the finance team, supporting the Finance Manager across a mix of accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and broader finance admin tasks. It’s hands-on, fast-paced, and no two days will be the same.
- Process supplier invoices and prepare payment runs
- Manage customer payments — including direct debits, reconciliations and chasing outstanding balances
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and keep cash flow records up to date
- Support month-end and year-end close, including preparing reports and adjusting entries
- Keep financial records organised and assist with audit prep
- Jump in to help improve processes and drive efficiencies across the team
- Provide excellent customer service, building strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal teams
The Candidate
We’re looking for someone hands-on, proactive and keen to build great relationships both inside and outside the business. You’ll enjoy working in a lively, high-volume environment and be excited by the idea of being part of a growing start-up.
- Experience in accounting or finance, with solid exposure to AP, AR and credit control
- Comfortable managing tricky customer relationships and resolving issues
- A knack for juggling multiple tasks and keeping organised under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail, with solid reconciliation and data entry skills
- Confident communicator who enjoys working with people and building rapport quickly
- Up to date on accounting basics and happy to follow compliance and best practice
- Experience in food service would be a bonus, but not essential
