With offices in Parramatta, they’re seeking a hands-on Payroll expert to join them on a 6 month contract, driving day-to-day operations while also supporting key system initiatives.
The Role
Reporting to the HR Director, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of fortnightly payroll, maintaining compliance with awards and legislation, and providing expert advice on payroll and remuneration matters.
You’ll also play a role in supporting system upgrades, process improvements and potential outsourcing initiatives, so it’s a brilliant opportunity to use your operational skills while contributing to project work. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the full end-to-end payroll process (including timesheets, overtime, on/off boarding, compliance with awards and legislation)
- Acting as system administrator for iChris / Chris21, including updates, improvements and testing
- Providing advice on remuneration, benefits, superannuation, redundancies and award interpretation
- Running audits, reporting and cyclical benchmarking to ensure best practice and compliance
- Supporting compensation reviews, job evaluations, salary modelling and pay governance
- Responding to employee payroll queries, maintaining a positive employee experience
- Collaborating closely with P&C, Finance and IT on payroll and system-related initiatives
The Candidate
You’ll be a payroll professional who loves getting into the detail and making sure things run smoothly. In addition to your strong operational payroll expertise, you’ll be comfortable navigating systems, change and improvement projects. Specifically, you’ll bring:
- Hands-on end-to-end payroll experience within a complex environment (must be confident processing payroll yourself)
- Strong working knowledge of iChris / Chris21 (essential)
- Exposure to system upgrades, process improvements or outsourcing projects
- Solid understanding of relevant awards, legislation and compliance requirements
- Great communication skills, with the ability to liaise across multiple teams and provide clear payroll advice
- Strong problem-solving, organisational and analytical skills
