The Position

As Payroll Officer, you will report to the Payroll Manager and be responsible for a full suite of payroll activities:
  • End-to-end payroll processing for approximately 700 staff on a fortnightly cycle
  • Calculate and report workers compensation liabilities, including lost time and injured worker payments
  • Reconcile Long Service Leave (LSL) accruals and payments in line with Enterprise Agreements (EAs) and state legislation
  • Handle special reconciliations, including shift worker Annual Leave entitlements outside of EAs
  • Administer salary increases and back payments
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly and professionally
  • Maintain professional communications with internal stakeholders, including supervisors, managers, and employees
  • Manage the payroll aspects of onboarding and offboarding processes efficiently

The Candidate

To excel in this role, you will bring the following:
  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll in a large, complex environment
  • Proficiency with major ERP systems, such as Micropay, SAP, ADP, and Time & Attendance platforms
  • A proactive and can-do attitude, driven to make a tangible impact
  • Strong interpersonal and exceptional communication skills
  • Resilience and eagerness to tackle challenges with initiative and determination
