The Opportunity
Due to workload, we are seeking an experienced Credit Officer to join the team on an initial 2–3 month temporary assignment, with the potential for extension.
This is a true end-to-end credit role where you will manage the full credit process from application and assessment through to collections and dispute resolution. Working closely with customers, internal stakeholders and the wider finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining cash flow and minimising aged debt.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and process new credit applications
- Conduct credit checks and verify customer references
- Manage customer account set-up and maintenance
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve outstanding claims
- Manage collections activities and follow up overdue accounts
- Investigate and resolve customer disputes efficiently
- Process credit notes, refunds and manual invoices
- Respond to high-volume customer enquiries via phone and email
- Maintain accurate customer and debtor records
- Support month-end reporting and credit administration activities
- Work closely with sales and operational teams to resolve issues and improve outcomes
About You
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a full-function Credit Officer role
- Strong experience managing the entire credit lifecycle from applications through to collections
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- A strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritise effectively
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Experience handling high-volume customer interactions
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving abilities
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- The ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
