THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join the team on a part-time basis (24 hours per week, Monday to Wednesday) at their Liverpool office. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and supporting a range of payroll-related tasks in a highly organised, detail-oriented way.
Key responsibilities include:
- Process weekly pay runs and ensure accuracy of payroll data
- Maintain up-to-date payroll records and support reporting activities
- Assist with terminations, resignations, and end-of-employment processes
- Process worker’s compensation wage transactions
- Interpret Awards, Agreements, and contracts regarding overtime and shift allowances
- Support PAYG, Superannuation, and payroll tax processing
- Respond to payroll enquiries promptly and professionally
The ideal candidate will bring proven payroll experience and a solid understanding of payroll legislation, Awards, and superannuation obligations. You are highly organised, accurate, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a small team.
To be successful you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in payroll or a related field
- Knowledge of general payroll practices and legislation
- Comprehensive understanding of Modern Awards
- Familiarity with PAYG, Superannuation, payroll tax, and Long Service Leave legislation
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with payroll software; PayGlobal highly regarded
