The Company:
Are you an experienced Payroll professional? We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading national company who is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join their People & Safety team.  This temporary position will initially be for a 4-5 week period with possible extension.

The Position

Reporting to the Senior Payroll Lead, you will be responsible for delivering efficient and accurate payroll services to a large, diverse workforce. You’ll play a key role in ensuring all employees are paid correctly and on time, while providing expert advice on payroll compliance, awards, and legislative requirements.

The Responsibilities

  • End-to-end processing of weekly and fortnightly payroll for up to 1,500 employees
  • Review, reconcile, and maintain payroll records, entitlements, and variations
  • Manage payroll calculations including terminations, redundancies, and deductions
  • Support month-end, year-end, and statutory compliance reporting
  • Provide advice and interpretation of awards, agreements, and payroll legislation
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve payroll processes
The Candidate

We’re looking for someone with:
  • Ceridian Dayforce (essential)
  • 2–4 years’ payroll experience (retail or FMCG highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of awards, enterprise agreements, superannuation, and payroll legislation
  • Advanced MS Excel and analytical skills
  • Experience with payroll systems (Dayforce or Attaché desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
