Payroll is seen as a critical function, not just an admin task and sits closely aligned with finance and operations.
 
The Role
Reporting to an experienced Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in the accurate and timely delivery of weekly payroll for a large, operational workforce. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail and confidence navigating awards are essential.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Assisting with the end-to-end processing of weekly payroll
  • Interpreting awards and agreements to ensure correct payments, allowances and entitlements
  • Managing new starters, variations and employee changes within the payroll system
  • Overseeing time and attendance data, investigating discrepancies and resolving anomalies
  • Processing terminations, final pays and associated documentation
  • Supporting monthly payroll tax obligations and reconciliations
  • Partnering with Finance on reporting and month-end requirements
  • Acting as back-up to the Payroll Manager when required

The Candidate
You are an experienced Payroll Officer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the importance of precision.
You bring:
  • Solid experience in a similar payroll position
  • Strong working knowledge of Chris21
  • Experience managing time and attendance systems
  • The ability to confidently interpret awards
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach
Most importantly, you’re reliable, adaptable and take genuine pride in delivering payroll accurately and on time.
