What You’ll Be Doing:
- Running the show across your region — scheduling, resourcing, service delivery and performance
- Creating a team culture where people feel supported, safe, and empowered to deliver
- Managing labour, fleet and operational budgets and knowing where every dollar goes
- Owning safety, compliance and service quality across every site and shift
- Building strong partnerships with councils, commercial clients, and internal teams
- Troubleshooting challenges as they arise and bringing calm, clarity and solutions
- Driving change, innovation and continuous improvement across your sites
- Reporting on KPIs, performance, and future opportunities to senior leadership
- Solid leadership experience in waste management, transport or essential services
- A visible, consistent safety-first mindset you walk the talk
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with local councils, understanding the nuances of government service delivery
- Confidence working with teams on the ground, in the office, and across the business
- Strong track record in people leadership including performance management, driver rostering, resource planning, and ensuring services run safely and to standard
- Knowledge of WHS, NHVR, and contractor compliance
- confident handling of HR and IR matters, including employee relations, disciplinary processes, award interpretation, and ensuring compliance with Fair Work legislation
- Budget and P&L experience with a commercial lens
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- HR licence preferred – handy for those days you need to jump in
- MS Office skills and a willingness to learn the systems that make things run smoother
