The Role
Reporting to the CEO and wider ELT team you will take ownership of the finance function, providing both strategic and hands-on financial leadership while ensuring the organisation maintains strong governance, compliance, and financial performance. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation
- Preparing accurate and insightful monthly management and Board reports
- Providing financial analysis and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, funding requirements, and regulatory obligations
- Supporting the organisation through a period of change, driving process improvements, and strengthening financial controls
- Partnering with operational leaders to provide commercial and financial guidance
- Leading and mentoring the finance team while maintaining a collaborative, high-performing culture
The Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Financial Controller who thrives in dynamic environments and is comfortable stepping into a leadership position from day one. You will bring:
- CPA or CA qualification
- Previous experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Leader
- Demonstrated experience within the NDIS, disability, aged care, health, or broader not-for-profit sector, with a strong understanding of government funding models
- Proven experience managing government-funded programs and funding compliance
- Strong Board reporting experience, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to executive stakeholders
- Experience leading finance teams through organisational change and transformation
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to hit the ground running
