The Company
We’re partnering with a large ASX Listed, complex organisation to find an experienced Payroll professional to join their team on a 6-month fixed term contract, starting early ASAP, with strong potential to extend. This role sits in a high-volume, fast-moving payroll environment and will suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, digging into systems, and confidently handling complex payroll queries.
 
The Role
Reporting into a Payroll Manager and working with an established payroll team, your focus will be on supporting the end-to-end payroll process for a fortnightly payroll of approximately 1,300 employees.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting payroll processing and ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Managing and responding to complex payroll queries following a recent system implementation
  • Handling new starters, terminations and employment changes
  • Investigating discrepancies and analysing payroll data to resolve issues efficiently
  • Developing a strong understanding of the payroll system to confidently respond to stakeholder queries
  • Working closely with internal teams to ensure payroll deadlines are met
 
About You
You’re an experienced payroll professional who is calm under pressure, system-savvy, and comfortable working in a busy payroll environment. You’ll bring:
  • Proven experience supporting high-volume payrolls
  • Strong payroll query resolution skills, particularly in complex environments
  • Experience working with Dayforce is highly regarded
  • The ability to analyse payroll data and understand system logic, not just process transactions
  • Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills
